If you are solids in a game, call and shoot your ball, along with accidentally making a stripe.. would you lose your turn on this? or does the stripe just stay down and you keep your turn?

  1. If you get your BALL in its POCKET then it doesn't matter if you get all the others in EXCEPT the 8 out of turn then you lose . Otherwise it doesn't matter as long as you DONT scratch or get the 8 in before you call it UNLESS YOU ARE LUCKY AND GET IT IN ON THE BREAK then of course you WIN

  2. you would have to give the pool stick to the other person so yeah i guess you would...

  3. You lose your turn and continue!

  4. if you get the other players ball in, the shot counts for them, and it is your opponents turn.

  5. lose ur turn

  6. APA/CPA rule is if you make your category of ball first it doesn't matter if you pocket the opponents ball as well.  You continue playing...obviously if you pocket their category of ball first it is a ball in hand.

  7. You fail to be specific about whether you pocketed your object ball or just your opponents ball.  If you pocketed your object ball, legally, you continue to shoot, no matter how many of your opponent's balls are pocketed during the shot.

  8. as long as you hit your ball first with the que ball, sounds like a fair play to me, I say you would keep on shooting and the strip stays down.

  9. STAYS DOWN YOU STILL SHOOT.

  10. People play either way. In pro life, lose your turn. ~_~

  11. NYC rules: if you make your shot you keep shooting, UNLESS you also sink the 8 ball.

  12. Not if you make a legal shot on your solid ,The stripe doesnt matter

  13. As long as the cue ball hits your (solid) ball first, you can continue.  The striped ball that you inadvertantly sank stays in the pocket.

  14. If you make your solid in the called pocket with a good hit on it  you could make all the stripes afterwards it wouldnt matter it is still your turn with no penalty

  15. House rules.

Most people in here post what they are used to, or what their league or their pool hall uses as their main rules.  There's no true standard in the US or internationally.

For most rec leagues, I believe the rule is about the same.  If you make a legal shot (hit your ball first) and pocket a ball (regardless of whether or not the shot is called), then the shot is good and you continue to shoot.  If you happen to make your opponent's ball on the same shot, you continue shooting.  Some halls/leagues do have the rule that your turn is over if you pocket an opponent's ball prior to your ball dropping, or pocketing an opponent's ball at all.

    There's no standard though.
