Question:

8 hour layover in Dublin...?

I know it's possible to escape the airport in this timeframe to see a little bit of Dublin, but, before I leave the airport:

Do I have to re-check my bags from 1 Aer Lingus flight to the next?

How long does it take to get through customs?

What is the best/fastest transportation into the city/back to the airport?

Thanks!!

  1. You will have plenty of time to see at least oconnell street (city centre) if you get a taxi straight into the town...but as the last contributiter said it can be expensive. about 30 euros.....the bus can be cheaper but a bit longer...maybe an extra 20 mins more than taxi......try and see the city centre  if you can...but give your self plenty of time to get back to the airport traffic could be a problem especially if its a friday night.....

  2. Your bags should be checked to your final destination. Verify this at check-in for your first flight.

Immigration may be a little slow. Customs if you are not stopped takes seconds.

A Taxi ( Not cheap, but highly regulated and professional ) or ' Aircoach ' will get you to the city and back in time.

Enjoy! e-mail me if you would like suggestions on where to go in Dublin city.
