  1. Consider investing in a small guide book for London. You'll want to plan your day so as not to waste time. I recommend the Top Ten by Eyewitness guides.  They are small but complete with transport info, restaurants, museum details.

  2. Just get a taxi, it will only take around 20 mins. You can actually do a lot in a few hours. Try going on an original bus tour and you will see a lot there.

  3. There will be taxis outside the airport and it will only take you about 20 minutes to get to the city. There's so much you can do in London so it really does depend what you're looking for.

If you want to go shopping, Oxford Street has all the main highstreet shops (the largest branches in the country) or Camden market has really alternative clothes. There's also Harrods, a famous, upmarket department store.

Tour buses run throughout the city. They're a great novelty for photos and will take you sight-seeing to all the main attractions. Historical places, such as Big Ben and the Towers of London are always worth a visit.

More modern attractions include the London Eye, a giant ferris wheel by the side of the River Thames. It's a long, slow ride that allows you to see a lot of the city and make the most of the spectacular view.

Museums, such as the Victoria&Albert, the Natural History museum and the Science museum are all really interesting. The art galleries are worth a visit too.

There really is so much to do and to see in London. I definitely recommend that you go, it's much better than sitting in an airport for hours. If you've got loads of luggage with you, there will be some sort of lockers at the airport where you can leave it temporarily.

I hope this helps you out a bit and I really hope you enjoy your holiday! Have fun! x

  4. Take a taxi to the city, its 15 min drive.

  5. Gatwick is London's second largest airport
