8 month old not sleeping at night?

I have an 8 month old and she SOMEtimes sleeps all night and sometimes is up all night.. i dont know what causes this.. she is consistant with her naps and bedtime routine but i dont know what is going on.. it could be teething but she isnt upset really.. she just wakes up crying for no reason.. any advice?

With my daughter, if she sleeps longer than 2 hours during the day she's awake all night. It also could be teething problem. My daughter wasn't fussy through the day on occassions, but she would wake up at night crying.

My son has been doing this.  He was sleeping through the night but now he wakes up several times crying.  My pediatrician said it is separation anxiety.  Before when he woke up he would go right back to sleep.  But now when he wakes up and doesn't see mommy or daddy, he starts crying and won't stop until we come into the room.  I just try to not pick him up.  I lay him down and rub his back or belly until he gets back to sleep.

It might be her teeth or maybe she just needs reassurance that your still there. Dont mean to worry you but my son is nearly 3 and still often wakes up in the night, he just walks into my room and wants me to put him back into bed, i think its just a reassurance thing.

Plus your daughter is still very young so dont worry about it too much xx
