8 month old will not laugh!!!?

I have tried everything and she will not laugh.. she smiles frequently but if i try to make her laugh doing things that MOST babies would be in stiches over, she gets mad and starts to fuss... she HATES it seems everything i try.. what could it be and how do i make her be happier..she just wants to be so serious all the time like she is all grown up or something..HELP!!! lol

hello my son is 8 months as well. and since he was younger, i've been making him laugh! i would say his first laugh was 3 months.

i've read that you've tried everything. I just talked to my son and made funny faces...and as he gotten older, i've been more physical with him, like tickling him, tossing him in the air, etc.

what really gets him is i play something like peek-a-boo, but just every time i see him, i'll just use a different funny face!

well i hope this helps, just more talking to her, but not in a baby way, you know as in an adult way. I've been told that it'll help them if you spoke to them as if they were older kids!

Some babies are just serious. My son was like that as a baby. He is 2.5 now and laughs all the time. Just because she isn't laughing doesn't mean she isn't happy. She will laugh when she's ready.

My daughter is 6 months old and will giggle on occasion but she seems to be more serious too.  Although she smiles alot she doesn't laugh much.  The only thing that makes her belly laugh hysterically is if  her daddy is wrestling with someone and gets taken down (the other day my fiance and my cousin were wrestling and any time either of them got thrown down she just lost it), or the dogs are play fighting (if one jumps on top of the other and tackles him she goes nuts).  She must think it is funny to see people she loves get hurt.  If she sees that she laughs so hard that she can barely catch her breath.  I guess tell her daddy to find someone to wrestle, maybe that will do it for her.

I don't know why seeing people in pain makes her laugh but it works!
