  1. any liver,,sounds gross,,but it's the best source.  Shrimp is good.  Turkey and of course beef.

Beans. pumpkin seeds. asparagus is good.

Should mention that liver is not good for pregnancy,,,so scratch that..sorry.

  2. cream of wheat

  3. spinach is VERY high in Iron.  Make salads with fresh spinach if you don't like it cooked ( I really dislike cooked spinach).  Plus salads aren't as filling as other food items so it may not way to heavily on you.  Good luck!

  4. Here are some foods rich in Iron:

    Red meat

    Egg yolks

    Dark, leafy greens (spinach, collards)

    Dried fruit (prunes, raisins)

Iron-enriched cereals and grains (check the labels)

    Mollusks (oysters, clams, scallops)

    Turkey or chicken giblets

Beans, lentils, chick peas and soybeans

    Liver

The best thing you can do is remember to always eat your iron enriched food with vitamin C rich foods. such as 100% juices or fruits!

    Best of luck to you!

  5. uum steak is a great way. I am also anemic and i just take one iron pill a day.

  6. any red meat and leafy green vegetables are good for anemia.

i was anemic up until 8 months and my doctor said that eating red meat and leafy green vegetables along with the iron pills is why im not still anemic.

  7. If I learned one thing in nursing school the answer is always dark green leafy vegetableses.Spinach does a body good.

  8. My friend had the same problem and she found these little sachets of iron-rich water which you put in juic and it increases your iron levels very very well, much better than iron tablets with none of the horrible side affects.
