8 people are being made redundant at my work out of about 22 full time.+2 agency who have been told Job safe ?

we have all been told that there are to be 8 people made redundant all permanent staff and we have two agency staff. we have been told they will try to find employment within the company,but the two agency staff have been told there jobs are safe! is this possible/allowed/legal ?as these could be two jobs for others being made redundant on the firm

Probably legal. Depends upon which state you live in as to how this might work. If you live in a right to work state you can be fired at any time for any reason, no explanation necessary, other than "discriminatory".  The advantage of temps is that they are not considered employees. Keeping them or not really means nothing, unfortunately
