I am feeling alot of discomfort, A little pain like umm pulling cramps and hard to toss and turn .

I am just wondering me quitting cold turkey could that be my reasons for being "antsy" ( I quit coldturkey cause I didnt smoke enough in a day * to make a harsh relapse * I just woke up one day and said I am quitting today! for my babys health and mine .. NOW i feel like c**p scatter brained umm uncomfortable and havnt felt any movement from baby , I guess I am wondering if this is normal or is it just withdrawls ?should I go get checked out ? ( there is no blood so I dont want to go to emerg cause I have no family doctor and to get an appoinment with my baby doc wont before a week . or 2 anyways .

sorry this is all messy and all over the place I hope it makes sense !

Thanks for your time and paitience God bless

  1. yes go get checked right away!! when the baby dosen't move for hours at  time that is not normal....but try drinking some orange juice then lay on leftside if no movement from baby in a hour go get checked...im proud of u for quitting smoking!! good luck hope everything is ok

  2. I smoked the first two months that I was pregnant. I am not proud of it but I did. I smoked a pack a week before I got pregnant. When I found out I was pregnant my doctor told me to cut back until I got down to zero a day. I never was a chain smoker and I never tapered off like she said. I quit cold turkey one day. I felt like c**p too. The scatter brained is just part of pregnancy (it was for me.) I wanted a cigarette constantly when I quit. I definitely think that you could be experiencing withdrawals. I haven't smoked another cigarette since. Good luck! I know it is hard.

P.S. Healthy baby boy was 6 lbs 6 oz

  3. honey good 4 you

i quit the day i found out, and never looked back

but i went thru that too

its all that withdrawls, and your body is changing, but it will go away....

many blessings that you quit for your baby

  4. feeling like c**p , being uncomfortable and scatter brained are all part of being pregnant. You haven't felt any movement from the baby because it is way too small. You won't feel anything for several more weeks.

  5. i stopped at 8 weeks cold turkey!! It is just in your head. Just think you hit a smoke your baby is gonna be very small each time, also you will smell better to!! You can do this! Good Luck and if you want you can add me to your contacts, i may be able to help!

  6. I smoked for 7 years and quit the moment I got that positive pregnancy result..my daughter is now 7 months old and I am still smoke free and never intend on stating again.  Ofcourse I felt like c**p but it's worth it for the baby.

  7. Is that 18wks 4 days? If so it is very common for you to not be feeling the baby move all time. I too quit smoking early in my pregnancy and I was murderous to be around for a while there. However I never suffered any pain. It is possible that you are feeling round ligament pain as that happens around your stage of pregnancy but you should definately see a dr it certainly can't hurt. And don't worry that you're not bleeding if you want to go into emergency go right ahead they get pregnant women in all the time with different scares they don't mind or at least they shouldn't. You may have to wait a while if they don't think it's serious but thats what they are there for.

  8. That's normal pregnancy stuff. I swear I've had a serious case of the stupids and antsy clumsiness the entire time I've been pregnant. I quit smoking the day after I found out I was pregnant and it was the easiest I've ever quit because it was for the health of my baby. They say when you're pregnant it's better to slowly stop smoking rather than stopping cold turkey because it's a shock to your system. But, I think that only really affects heavy smokers. I had been trying to quit anyway so I was down to about half a pack a day by the time I found out I was pregnant.

    Good luck!

  9. It's a combination of just being pregnant and being irritable from quitting. Just keep at it, try a cup of hot green tea at night. It's really calming. I don't think it's withdrawals, you just don't have a smoke to calm you when you get aggravated. Good Luck!!!

  10. Congratulations on finally quitting! It's tough, but worth it :-)

At this stage, your baby is growing pretty rapidly, so you'll feel all sorts of unusual twinges, which can make sudden moves very uncomfortable.

Take it easy when you stand up or roll over to minimise the cramping.

There ARE symptoms to quitting - headaches, jitters, mood changes - you're unlucky that these can also be pregnancy symptoms, so you're probably copping it worse than normal.

Try gentle exercise to distract you from thinking about smoking, or taking up a craft, or working on nursery stuff.

you may not feel movement yet - some feel it earlier and some later. I guess you're due for an ultrasound soon - that should help put your mind at ease.

Don't worry about the scatterbrain thing - that's SO normal - I like to call it "placenta brain"!

Congrats again - you're strong, and will make it just fine xx

  11. i don't know but congratulation on quiting .
