This is the year for the "small party" (I alternate every other year is a big shin dig). I told my daughter she could invite over three friends. So far I've got a craft planned and of course food & cake. What else can they do, or should I just let them go play? Party will be mid-June and we don't have access to a pool.

  1. Well you can do a activity like if she likes a singer you can have a little singing party with that persons songs.

  2. You could go to the dollar store and get several water guns and maybe a slip n slide. Talk about a blast. You can use a broom as a limbo pole and blast the music in the yard. Have fun!

  3. Perhaps you could get a slip and slide for the girls to play on...you could also dig in your closet and find some old things that they could play dress up with, and have a fashion show! Good luck!

  4. I don't know anything about the area you live in but you could go to a zoo or maybe take them all to a movie.

  5. why not let them make their own food? They could make pizza, add their own toppings, decorate cupcakes, biscuits etc, Kids love to cook

  6. How about water balloon wars or sprinklers?  You could do a dress up/make up party.....maybe do mani/pedis for them and get some little stickers or designs to put on them too.

Have fun!  My ds will be 8 next week and we're doing pizza at Chuck E Cheese.

  7. I hate to be the negative person here, but slip and slides are dangerous.

You can break your neck on them if you slide wrong, just like people playing baseball and softball can.

If you want a water activity, get a little inflatable pool that's about 2 or 3 foot deep (costs about $20 to $50 bucks depending upon where you buy it) and let them splash around in it, supervised, of course.

  8. ask the 8 year old for her opinion.

  9. Swimming, is fun....

    Sports are great....

    Scary (age appropriate) movies

  10. Hanna Montana is huge right now. Have the girls play dress up. Maybe get a karoke machine & let them sing hanna montana songs. Here are some links for some more ideas.
