LOL - we were watching Yankee game on TV and a commercial for Viagra came on - the commercial says something like "for an erection lasting....... seek medical treatment" - or something like that. So she asks what an erection was and I sort of just ignored it and quickly changed the subject. But should I have sort of explained it - I really don't like not answering my kids when they have a question - but it was just really akward. Any suggestions? Thank you :)

  1. She needs accurate information about these subjects, and should be able to look to you as a reliable source.  Answer her question properly, but don't give her any more information than she asks for.  You could discuss why you feel awkward about it with her, mentioning how these subjects are mostly private discussions.

  2. I hate that commercial...I got lucky though my son was just singing the song, so I told him that it was for a medicine for a mans private part. But does it really have to say s*x and erection like 50 times during it? This is just me, but since it is a daughter you're talking about, and she won't be having any erections...lol, I would probably not bring it back up unless she asks again, then you probably will have to tell her.

  3. i would tell her to look it up in the dictionary... I am sure it is censored and can't get messed up from you explaining what it means personally to us women and so furth.

Please don't oppress your daughter, like everyone has done to women for years... I am 24 and barely learning stuff about my anatomy!!! here's 2 websites i was looking on (education but not for children to see!)http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clitoris

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_geni...

It's like the world doesn't want women to know about themselves or have sexual gratification I have a 4year old daughter... and I didn't know this stuff.    Yes age appropriate... but don't hold her down too. (when she's age appropriate in her teen years) but gently give her info like on the student dictionary...

  4. Well, you could tell her thats where she took her very first swmming lesson!!
