since im a huge fan of the 80's-early 90's time period

i need ideas of what to do at my party though

like should we play games?

  1. Just have everyone dress up in the '80s attire. Set up an area for people to dance to the music in one room and have the movies played in another. Make it a party! '80s style. Or try to get some videos from the '80s. This would've been fun to do myself. Have fun and Happy Birhtday!

  2. include "heat of the moment"

    wear "80's" fashion..

  3. Have an 80's dress code. Have homemade classic Betty Crocker snacks. And play Austin Powers or something.

  4. Okay, so I would definitely go for the eighties movie ideas. Don't worry about it being corny. In fact, make a corn-fest of epic proportions. Watch some campy horror movies. And make sure everyone dresses up eighties style, you know? Leg warmers, etc. (HUGE hair)

  5. cool idea :)

well, i recently had a 80's themed dance at my school and one of the things we did was dress up 80's style.

you know, crazy neon colors, sock warmers, lots of hairspray, all that kind of stuff.

  6. I'm assuming everyone will be dressing up! You can look up some 80's clothes ideas and include them with the invitation to give people ideas!

Heavy Metal Music....especially rock ballads, Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Billy Idol, Depeche Mode, Duran Duran...

Have movies on hand, but the best way to have a party is to go with whatever happens. So, play lots of music. People will hang out. Play a cheesy 80's party game like Twister which is a good way to loosen up. Or have an 80's dance competition! Use the movies if things are kind of quiet but if everyone is having a good time hanging-out then don't pull the movies out.

The 80's WERE cheesy so it's okay if it's cheesy! HAVE FUN!

  7. Game ideas

    > Worst 80's outfit (which is kinda the best) should win a prize.

    > Biggest hair is another prize winning area.

    > Worst dancer (another 80's joke)

Have a room where you can show 80's movies.

Maybe hire a game console and let people play 80's singstar or Guitar hero 80's tracks.

Karoke is also a good idea.

Lots of neon coloured stuff and balloons as far as the eye can see. Bubbles would also be awesome.

The 80's is meant to be corny and that will be the main entertainment anyway!!

    Hope I helped!! **

  8. I have an 80s party every year and it is SO MUCH FUN!

everyone dresses up and we vote for "Best Dressed" and I give the winner a 80s movie as the big prize. (you can all vote later on during the party not right away)

we also play 80s trivia (which might be harder for you guys being younger) but they do have games in the stores of 80s trivia like Trivial Pursuit and DVD ones I've seen too. play some type of trivia game like that.

have an 80s dance off or play charades relating to cards you made up of 80s subjects like movie titles or band names.

play all 80s music during the party- Best Buy has Cds you can buy of all mixed top hits form the 80s. you can even burn your fav 80s songs and hand them out as party favors to everyone- make a fun cover with your name and party info on it!

You can also have an 80s karaoke contest. you can make up a game where you post pictures of 80s actors or bands or whatever down one side of a paper then mix up their names down the other and you have ot match them up (throw an extra name in there to confuse people a little!)

If you're going to watch a 80s movie watch Goonies, Valley Girl, or Wedding Singer- all my favs! Adventures in Babysitting was a good one too!

  9. Since your already having everyone dress up in 80's just make sure you decorate in 80's like the flashing lights and things. Also you can play some 80's music but also play music recent music to get people dancing. I'm not sure about the 80's moving thing maybe if its a scary one but it depends if your having a girl party or boy and girl party because i'm pretty sure no guy wants to sit there and watch movies

  10. Simply visit:

    http://www.partystuffonline.co.uk/

here you will find 80s tableware, decorations, costumes etc.

  11. Get everyone one to wear parachute pants and jackets with lots of zippers,  or rent the movie Valley Girl ( Like Oh ma G*d, like for real).  Karaoke to the 80's, like Thriller, Flash Dance and so on.  Break Dancing was huge back then and bandannas around the wrist and ankles.  Sweatshirts with the necks cut out and wearing polo's under button downs with the polo collar left up.
