80's themed dance ideas [decorations, etc...] for an 8th grade dance?

I am the PTA President at the jr. high where we live & we have chosen an 80's theme for the 8th grade end of the year dance. I like totally loveee the 80's LoL; obviously that's my generation. But I need help...so, I am open to any & all suggestions & pics and/or websites would, also, be great!

Pics of Cindy Lauper.  Have kids wear their sunglasses (Sunglasses at Night)... neon rope lights, gold table cloths, bright decorations, 80's band posters like New Kids on the Block and Beastie Boys, Duran Duran

Maybe you could decorate it with a bunch of tie dye rainbows and colors.   Add a bunch of funky, neon colors and shapes for the background.  Maybe add a disco ball.  If you don't have one, I assume you could just use a big styrofoam ball, and glue on lots of glitter on it, or you can cut bits of mirror glass and hot glue it on.  Try adding a bunch of cheesy quotes from the 80's around the room, or hang them up.  Quotes like "Totally Radical" and such.  And you could also hang up some 80s band posters around the room.
