80% ad-spots for Super Bowl XLVII sold out already by CBS Sports - NFL News
The National Football League (NFL) continues to remain the most popular sport in America year after year and its signature Super Bowl Championship game continues to break viewership records each passing year.
This year to the Super Bowl game is expected to break all ratings records and that has made advertisers move quickly to secure ad-spots for the big game.
CBS Sports which will carry the 2013 Super Bowl live has already sold out 80% of its ad spots to brands and only a few spots are available for sale.
The report by Sports Business Daily reflects a growing trend by advertisers to pick up Super Bowl game spots early.
Citing sources, the report also mentioned that this year’s Super Bowl ad spots carry a bumper price with each 30-second spot selling for around $ 3.8 million.
CBS has not revealed which brands have picked up spots for the Super Bowl game but there can be no doubt that automotive and beverage brands would have picked up the bulk of ad spots in the game.
John Bogusz, executive vice president of sales and marketing for CBS Sports said according to
Sports Business Daily:
“The game has moved early.”
Adding further he said:
“We’re certainly well ahead of where we were three years ago [the last time CBS carried the game].”
Super Bowl games continue to attract the attention of the American audience and game days have become a family affair with friends, family and neighbours getting together to watch the big game live and support their favourite teams.
Increasingly international interest in America’s biggest sporting event has been growing considerably and many fans from around the world stay awake in the late hours to watch the game live.
The game will be played in New Orleans this year and the event is sure to attract a huge television audience once again.
NBC Sports had the rights for last year’s epic battle between the New England Patriots and New York Giants for the Lombardi Trophy.
This year’s game is set to break all advertising and viewership records once again and like the advertisers, fans too cannot wait to watch another scintillating Super Bowl game.
