Question:

80 amp AGU fuse with a car amp that has 4x30amp fuses?

will that work? they don't seem to make 120A fuses at all in w/e type for the car. they've got 125A and 100A but I just want to know if an 80A will work and just burn out sooner, or will it just be blown without working at all

  1. it should work fine because your probally not fully powering that amp anyways. if you crank it way up you probally blow the fuse faster but i think you should be good.


  2. The fuse is there to protect the wiring going to the amp, it is not there to protect the amp. Each amp should have its own current protection.

    The fuse will work as long as the combination of the 4 ams does not pull more than 80A.

    So don't go sticking a larger size fuse in the holder unless the wire that it is protecting can handle that amount of current
