I'm a girl in junior high (middle school) and this is my first year doing track. I'm competing in the 800 meter at our first track meet in about a week. My first time running the 800 i got 3:21. Not very good, but it was my first time. Any advice so I can get ready for the big first meet?

  2. hey im doing 800m too next tuesday...

dont give yourself too much stress...just do your best

  3. jog for a while but when u get to about the last 200 meters sprint as fast as u can

  4. hi, you can see for the Tips of 800 meters race here.

  5. I'm actually in the 800m for a meet tomorrow:) Everyone paces oneself differently. If you're allowed to cut in right after the gun goes off, make sure you get a good start; don't let anyone elbow you in an attempt to push you back. If anything, elbow others:) Start out at a fast jog, and take it up a notch after the 200 mark. After your first 400, just hang in there; try not to slow down. When you come to your last straightaway, give it all you've got left. There's no one way to run for everybody; each person has his/her strengths and weaknesses. Good luck!:)
