  1. Thats a really big genre. Maybe pick one movement like the "New Romantics" and start from there. What their influences were etc. Pop music in general is by definition what is happening at the time. It also "speaks back" to what has been happening in music etc before. Fashion, world and local events. I hope this helps!!
