  1. my hubby  took a s***n analysis after 4 years of us trying, and they said our only option was in vitro or icsi , because out of 200 tested only 10 sperm were normal. i bought him mega man sport vitamins and fertility blend for men from gnc, and the next month we were pregnant. we are now 13 weeks

keep your head up, try eveything inexpensive b4 paying so much or giving up

  2. of course theres still a chance, even tho its only 15%, youcan easily have IVF done with this :)

  3. 40-85% abnormal sperm is typical for men. Vitamin supplements and reducing temperature of the testes can sometimes improve the count. If you are still unable to conceive consider in vitro fertilization.

  4. There are several things you can do, some of which might even be covered by your insurance policy. IUI, for example, takes your sperm, washes out the slow or dead ones, and then inserts the good ones up through the hole in the cervix (cervical mucus is one of the major barriers to sperm, so that's a big hurdle if you've got low sperm count) and this is a good way of getting pregnant for many couples. Ask your doctor about it.

  5. Hi, I know exactly how u feel. My hubby has 80% abnormal sperms.

We are now going for ivf with icsi. With icsi u dont need many sperms they will choose the health sperms and inject 1 or 2 directly into the egg. Don't panic and I hope your wife understands as well as u. We also got pregnant naturally once but had a miscarriage. So there is still a chance. I am on the waiting list 4 icsi and it only takes about 3 to 4 months here in Barts hospital in London. Contact me if you have any questions.

  6. The article in my sourse quotes a Dr. that says a man is lucky if he has 15% serviceable sperm -  so I think you'll be okay.  Most sperm have one issue or another.  A lot goes into making perfect sperm.  And remember 15% of 400 million is still a really high number and you only need one.

  7. I think there is still chance for you but it will be really difficult and your doctor should help you alot. I'm sorry to hear about that and I hope everything goes well

  8. Maybe you should wear looser fitting underwear.

What the h**l is the "thumbs down" about? I gave a genuine answer.

  9. My husband has the same problem.  In the early stages of our treatment he had his sperm test which came back showing he had a high number of abnormal sperm.  He was really worried until he spoke to our Dr. who told us that it shouldn't be a problem.

We questioned him on the World Health Organisation guideline of a normal sperm sample.  They say normal is up to 70% abnormal.  He said he rarely sees 70% or under abnormal.

Is your wife OK fertility wise?  Remember you still have 15% normal.  You still have a chance.  When you see your Dr. get him to explain what the test means for you and what your next step is.

IUI is a good option for someone who has a problem getting pregnant due to the quality of a man's sperm. IUI involves preparing a s***n sample in some way, so that higher concentrations of the most motile sperms are selected and injected through the cervix around the time of ovulation.

Good Luck to you and your partner!
