86 Cutlass Supreme...springs and shocks...

Just bought a 86 cutlass supreme. clean little bandit from virginia but my issue is this. I want to jack it up a little maybe a few inches, mainly just replace the shocks and springs with better maybe bigger material. Whats my options on this? what springs and shocks should I go with? dont wanna have to regear though.

That has coil springs on the back. If you just want to raise the back a few inches, get a set of air bags like the ones made by airlift. they are available from places like Summit and Jegs. The basic kit is less than $100.00 and is very simple to install. They use a max of 25 psi so they don't ride hard like air shocks do.

For shocks, any gas shock from a name manufacturer such as Gabriel or Monroe will be fine for this car.

You don't have to regear when you do these things. They are just really cosmetic modifications. You only need to regear when you add power or radically change the tire size.
