Question:

86 Yamaha fazer exhaust?

I've been looking around, and i was wondering what kind of upgrades i could do with the yamahas exhaust.

someone said drilling a few holes in it to give it a deeper sound.

or if that wouldn't work, how much would it cost to upgrade? and where to go to upgrade it?

its a nice bike.. but its a bit high pitched.

i don't necessarily want a louder bike.. just deeper.

thanks in advance for all your help.

:)

  1. hey dude don't drill holes in the stock pipes, they are for worth too much in value to destroy them... I know I did this to a set once and my 2nd set of stock pipes were hard to finbd and not cheap. Very few after market pipes are out there, Vance & Hines has an old set but the header pipe is black and not chrome, I like chrome so I kept my stock ones.  If you search yahoo there is a Fazer group were all in, and some place over seas make after market chrome pipes that sound pretty sweet.  Keep in mind you change the pipes a jet kit is the next step to make it really open up. I have a stage 2 in mine, which I smoke every 600cc sport bike that comes up and "wants some"

here is a photo of the vance and hines pipe that's kinda ugly

Every once in a while you will find pipes on ebay that usually need a good cleaning up. But you can call around and watch ebay, craigs list etc.

I was abotu to sell one of my Fazers this summer, but 2 tanks of gas and 6 hours later I decided there now way on earth i'd let it go.. too much fun!  email me if you need help sometime
