I don't know why, but for my Acct 200 class there is an article about cricket and we're supposed to be able to answer questions about it.

"What kind of game gives you 86 balls, and what's the big deal about hitting boundries? And what are stumps?"

  1. The stumps are the wickets(one each end of the pitch) Bounderies are worth 4 or 6 runs.

  2. 86 balls= 86 legal deliveries from the bowler (pitcher, if you must).

Boundaries are good because if the ball rolls to the edge of the field, or the boundary, it is an automatic four runs. If you hit the ball over the boundary, it is six automatic runs. The stumps are the three sticks behind the batsman that he has to make sure aren't knocked over by the bowler.

  3. 86 balls ould be 14 overs or so. The big deal about hitting the boundries is since u have to post a big total on the board, u would want to hit boundries which gives u a four or a six score. Stumps are those three sticks..i dunno.lol...my head's hurting..sorry
