This bike has been sitting for 2 years. I was proud that i re-bled the front brakes and clutch with fresh DOT3.

I got the engine idling with alot fo WD40 and eventually some SeaFoam in the tank-- the baby was purring on idle yesterday.

Today-- i got a bunch of backfire, then the front cylinder stopped combusting (no heat in the pipes. Rear cylinder was struggling to run today. I pulled front cylinder spark plug-- cleaned the contacts-- reconnected distributor plug but no spark on test.

Now neither cylinders firing at all. I check fuses-- all intact. Checked all contacts-- nothing seems out of place or loose.

What the h**l happened? Could the SeaFoam have loosened all the gunk and now my carbs are clogged?

THIS BIKE WAS PURRING LIKE A KITTEN YESTERDAY!! WHY DID IT STOP FIRING NOW?

Any advice is greated appreciated!

  1. Remove the carbs from the bike and clean them.

The sea foam loosened any bad gas in the float bowls and clogged the pilot jets in the carbs.

  2. I would say that yes the sea foam may have loosened some gunk in the tank and clogged your jets, however, you mentioned you tested the plug and got no fire. You said you got the bike running with WD-40? As in spraying it into the carb like starting fluid?

I am guessing you fouled the plugs, try changing them out.

    Good Luck!!

  3. This question could be answered better on the Intruder Alert forum.  Intruder Alert is a Suzuki Boulevard & Intruder Owners Club.  Most people on this forum own Intruders.  Registration is free.

If the bike has no spark, this has absolutely nothing to do with the carburetors.

Check your battery connections.  Intruders are known for being finicky about having good battery connections.
