adjust the clutch. my saleen never does that. they are both mustangs, and check the pressure plate. make the adjustments.

That series of cobra drives went through a big factory recall where they replaced  first the shift cables and finally redesigned the clutch dog.  You need a mechanic. They will replace the clutch dog and the forward gear, maybe reverse if it looks worn. Sorry but will come close to a $1000/  Then they will want to know the service history of the boat as you may want to add in a u-joint boot and water lines, Now is the time-- How long since the service?.

Sorry, on quick fix, but check to make sure the prop isn't spun......but I'd guess it's the clutch dog, which means you have to go into the drive, a job for a mechanic.  Good luck.
