89 minutes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Shinji-Kagawa-c33364 help Borussia Dortmund sink Bayern Munich at home - Bundesliga News
Shinji Kagawa's 89 minutes on the pitch against Bayern Munich proved fatal for Jupp Heynckes' men, as Borussia Dortmund close Die Roten lead atop the table to just two points.
The Japanese missed his scoring chance but created one to brush aside Munich at their home. Mario Gotze scored the only goal to leave Bayern with food for though ahead of their next game.
Bayern played hosts to the Borussians on Saturday, November 19, at Allianz-Arena, where the reigning champions recorded their second successive win at Bayern’s home turf.
Gotze’s strike in the second half made all the difference as the Reds were deprived of all three points for the second time at home this season.
Kagawa was inspirational throughout the game and it was his assist that allowed Gotze to sink the Bavarians in front of their home fans. The Japanese himself had a golden scoring opportunity in the second half but his effort was handled smartly by Manuel
Neuer.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Japan-c2928 international later provided a match-winning assist to Gotze in the 65th minute, whose beat Neuer with a one-touch finish into the far post. Despite making several attempts to equalize, Bayern were kept at bay by the visitors and eventually
suffered their second loss at home this term.
While talking to reporters after Saturday’s game, Kagawa mentioned:
"I thought I'd be done in if I let my focus slip for one minute … it was a tough match."You really have to do a lot to beat a big club like this, so it was a great experience and it will give us a lot of confidence."
He also added, "At times I only had a second to react, and I didn't want to waste those opportunities so I think I went for those spaces more than usual. But I wasn't able to create a lot of scoring opportunities, so that was disappointing."
With Saturday's win, the Black Yellows now find themselves just two points adrift of the current leaders, Bayern Munich, and will next take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in their struggling Champions League campaign.
