8th grade class party ideas?

my social studies class is having a end of the year class party on Tuesday (June 3rd, 2008). I need some ideas for what to bring. Everyone's bringing something, and there's already three people bringing drinks. What I had in mind was bringing plastic wine glasses, and decorating them [just for the girls!] with their names, or doing something creative, so I need help on creative ideas for favors for my friends too!,

But I don't know what kind of food to bring, if I should make cupcakes, or what. But I would like it to be creative, and very elegant, nice and pretty much casual.

So if you could please help me out with ideas, that would be so awesome. If I don't really find what I was looking for [I'm sure you'll create soomething :) ], thank you so much for helping me though! =]

You can make the cupcakes that are baked in the ice cream cones.  Then when you ice them, decorate them like they are an ice cream cone, and add sprinkles, etc.

You can make cookies, and put lollipop sticks in them and then wrap them in cellophane, tie closed with a ribbon.  You can even decorate the cookies with anything you want.  That's more festive than having a regular cookie and you can get the lollipop sticks at any craft store in the baking aisle.

For your friend's favors, you can do your wine glasses, go to the craft store and get some paint pens that write on plastic and decorate the glasses for your friends.

OR

While at the craft store you can get some beads and things and make some friendship bracelets for you and your friends and then it's something only you and a few others have, so it's something only your group of friends have in common and you know what that bracelet means, it's your friendship bracelet.

OR

At the craft store they have blank frames and boxes and things, you can get some paints and things and decorate them, for the frames, you can paint them and put a picture of you and each girl in them and give it to them as a gift.  Or if you do the boxes, make it their personal treasure box for their own special things, and put something special in there for them.
