  1. Wow! To be 13, your time is amazing!  Keep up the good work, and you'll be the best in the state at the 400m!  Do you run the 4x400/1600relay?

  2. That is a very good time for your 400! We really dont have any girls that are good at the 400 on my team, the lowest time from any 400 runner on my team is like 1:18ish. District time for us is a 1:11 so I think you are pretty fast. Im a 1600 runner so i no i cant run a 400 that fast!

  3. It's sort of good i guess, but if u want to improve ur time,, then practice. I practice runing a lot in my front yard because you'll get faster if u practice and bring a stopwatch while u run. It's good to know what your time is. If you practice, soon you'll be really good.

Oh yeah and stretch before u run and do leg work becaue if you have muscle on ur leg, you'll be a lot faster

  4. Wow! That is actually a really great time for an 8th grader. The best girl 400m runner at my school can run it in 59 seconds but she is a senior. The best freshman girl on my team (just turned 15 yrs old) runs it the same time as you. Keep it up! You can get even better!

  5. thats really good

by the way dont stretch before you run it loses your explosiveness

  6. that is actually a really good time

i recently ran it in 62.3 and im on varsity

if you keep that up youll be amazing on varsity when ur a freshman

  7. Well at that age to be competitive at a state level you need to running below 1 minute in the 58's - 59's. So if you are only running for fun then thats a good time, but if you want to make it to the higher levels you will have to improve by around 7 seconds. This time will need to drop for every proceeding year to stay competitive.

If you look at this years state final for little athletics you will see my point.

1 Jacarna Fenton            Kurri Kurri                58.11

2 Savannah Walker        Stuarts Point            58.54

    3 Daniella Lamas            Holroyd                     58.58

    4 Jenny Blundell               Cherrybrook             58.82

5 Libby Augustine           Manly Warringah      59.79

6 Tegan Richards           Wollongong City       1:00.41

7 Rachel Munro               Emu Plains               1:00.95

    8 Tara Vance                   Ryde                         1:01.81

9 Emily Debrot                Albion Park               1:04.85

But by all means it is possible for you to get to this level if you put in at training and get a quality coach, that will get you to perform at your highest level.

  8. i am in 7th grade and my last track meet i got 1:02.12, the fastest 8th grade girl in the 400 was 1:01.97 hope i helped!! btw your scores are very good!!!:)
