9/11 truthers make no sense?

If they really believe the U.S. government killed 3000 of its own citizens for no reason and lied about it and invaded Afghanistan as a result of something it did, they ought to leave the country? because that's so terrible? so evil, that our tax dollars go in to support it make us complicit in it? if you really believe that, you ought to leave?

You are so wrong on so many levels. It would not make us complicit.  Also, even people who believe that 9/11 was possibly an inside job don't believe that the entire government participated, but only a select few insiders. I think before you spout your dribble you need to actually do some research and stop relying simply on "debunker" sites, which rely on the same handful of people trotting out the same lines. There are hundreds of engineers, architects and phycisists who have rejected the official account.  If the "conspiracy theories" have been rejected by so many engineers, etc, why do the debunkers have to keep trotting out the same small group of shills? Most of them have more likely remained silent publicly. Here are a few of hundreds who haven't. I guess they should just leave the country.

The details to your question clearly show you are not fully informed, and you are certainly not alone.

Truth seekers do not generally believe it was “the government” itself.  The complicity was by criminal elements within the government, and white-collar criminals outside the government.  Of course “the government” would not harm its own people – the people are the government!

Why is it so difficult to believe that criminals can make their way to elected office and top positions?

I should confess that truth seekers often mistakenly refer to “criminal elements within the government” as “the government” or “the Bush Administration”.  It takes one word to say “government” yet it takes five words to say “criminal elements within the government”.  In the interests of keeping sentences short for clarity, people abbreviate.  I am guilty of that myself but am getting better at remembering to word it properly.

Your words "for no reason" indicate some study is in order.  Spend some time researching the documented geopolitical ambitions of PNAC, CFR and trilateral commission members.  Get the PNAC manifesto and read it.

Read the book “The Grand Chessboard” written by Obama’s foreign policy adviser Brzenski (a “neo-lib” who is also a CFR member and co-founder of the Trilateral Commission, and has ties to the PNAC think tank).

I agree that idea that “the government” could be involved in 9/11 doesn't make any sense unless you understand the geopolitical reasons and you also understand that the complicity was not by the government but, rather, by criminal elements inside the government.

That holds true regardless of whether those criminals merely looked the other way, or whether there was direct involvement in planning and executing the events of the day.  Either way, the number of people who have perished as a result is now in the millions.

Don’t forget there is also a significant profit motive for 9/11.  Research who is making money as a result of 9/11 and the resulting wars and war on terror.  Is it so difficult to believe that criminals in positions of power would use that power for their own profit?  C’mon.

Hopefully you follow this advice for self-learning.  I am showing my goodwill by spending some time on this answer although it appears you are merely trolling.  Show some goodwill in return and do the research.   Nobody is paying me to do this. I do this because I love America.  I’m taking time out of the business day for you, which time will have to be made up in order for me to keep food on the table.

I can see you point somewhat, because a lot of their claims have been debunked sufficiently.  You have to dig.  I've looked at it from both angles quite extensively.

But...

There is a strong case to be made for government complicity.  I don't think they blew up the buildings or anything, nor do I care.  If they allowed it to happen... or even if they were simply incompetent in letting it occur, someone should still be punished.  Someone should lose a job.  Maybe some people should go to jail.  

But nothing happened to anyone.

Here's what I know for sure.  These are irrifutable facts:

1980s: Osama bin Laden runs a front organization for the mujaheddin—Islamic freedom fighters rebelling against the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. The CIA secretly backs the mujaheddin. Pakistan's President Benazir Bhutto, understanding the ferocity of Islamic extremism, tells then President George Bush, "You are creating a Frankenstein." [MSNBC, 8/24/98, Newsweek, 10/1/01]

1994: Two attacks take place which involve hijacking planes to crash them into buildings, including one by an Islamic militant group. In a third attack, a lone pilot crashes a plane at the White House. Yet after Sept. 11, over and over aviation and security officials say they are shocked that terrorists could have hijacked airliners and crashed them into landmark buildings. Sept 1999: A US intelligence report states bin Laden and Al-Qaeda terrorists could crash an aircraft into the Pentagon. The Bush administration claims not to have heard of this report until May 2002, though it was widely shared within the government. [CNN, 5/18/02, AP, 5/18/02, Guardian, 5/19/02]

July 24, 2001: Larry Silverstein's $3.2 billion 99-year lease of the WTC is finalized. Silverstein hopes to win $7 billion in insurance from the destruction of the WTC towers. [NY Times, 02/16/03, Newsday, 09/25/02]

Also, it had been requested that the WTC towers be demolished in the past because of numerous problems, but the asbestos inside prevented the Port Authority from allowing it.  But after the incident occurred, the government assured everyone the air was ok to breathe.

Why would Silverstein buy these buildings that were essentially condemned?

Late July 2001: The US and UN ignore warnings from the Taliban foreign minister that bin Laden is planning an imminent huge attack on US soil. The FBI and CIA also fail to take seriously warnings that Islamic fundamentalists have enrolled in flight schools across the US. [Independent, 9/7/02, more]

Aug 6, 2001: President Bush is warned by US intelligence that bin Laden might be planning to hijack commercial airliners. The White House waits eight months after 9/11 to reveal this fact. Aug 24, 2001: Frustrated with lack of response from FBI headquarters about detained suspect Moussaoui, the Minnesota FBI begins working with the CIA. The CIA sends alerts calling him a "suspect 747 airline suicide hijacker." Three days later an FBI Minnesota supervisor says he is trying to make sure that Moussaoui does not "take control of a plane and fly it into the World Trade Center." Sept 10, 2001: Defense Secretary Rumsfeld announces that by some estimates the Department of Defense "cannot track $2.3 trillion in transactions." CBS later calculates that 25% of the yearly defense budget is unaccounted for. A defense analyst says, “The books are cooked routinely year after year." [DOD, 9/10/01, CBS, 1/29/02] This announcement was buried by the next day’s news of 9/11.

I'm from Great Britain and maybe you feel i have no right to comment but if you look at footage of 9/11, the towers collapse the same way as a demolition does, and if the towers fell a floor at a time, it would take longer than it did to fall (approx 45 seconds) It took 15 seconds,so it is possible that  the reason it fell so fast is that it was not falling a floor at a time, but rather planted explosives on certain floors which would stop any force it had from possibly staying up.

Explosives can be used for demolition.
