9 crayfish died, why?

I went camping at a place called blacklake in ORegon, before i left i cautch 9 crayfish i was in an 2 hour drive back home, i put them in a tank with bubbles and a filter, the next day i found them all dead or dieing! they had food! before i got them from black lake i had this other crayfihs that i found at timothy lake, he was all beaton up and stuff and he lived for 3 weeks. Is there somthing about black lake?

Because you are supposed to eat them not keep them as pets lol

wild caught crawfish are prone to any kind of disease under the sun.

ALSO, the water conditions in the lake which they were used to and thrived in are much different then the fake conditions you provided for them in a tank.

go buy some captive bred crawfish from the petstore, they will live alot longer, and you won't have to take a creature from it's natural habitat to watch it for 3 weeks and let it die.

Crayfish might be sensitive to the water temperature.. that might have killed them. Also overpopulation.. maybe you had too many in too small of a container?
