I think the thing that is getting to me most are my stretch marks....I was not over weight when I became pregnant and even now at 9 months, I have only gained 22 pounds. However, before I didn't have ANY stretch marks at all...and now I have them EVERYWHERE!...on my thighs, inner thighs, buttox, my sides, and on my stomach and b***s....I think every inch of me got covered in them. I have been using cocoa butter throughout the pregnancy...but it clearly does not work. They aren't minor stretch marks either...they are huge, dark red and purple and it looks like I was in a major knife fight or something. I am told that they wont away...only fade, so I have gotten use to the fact that at only 22 years of age my bathing suit days are long gone....but what can I do about the itching???.....my stomach is itching like crazy where they are continually coming up. Lotion seems to temporarily give relief.....but it is very short lived. Any advice????

  1. Don't worry i think all of those thoughts are normal . I had my Little girl(almost 3) when i was 19 ... i was already married but husband is in the military so every time i would see him i had something new, a new stretch mark or i was bigger i gain about 26 pounds ... It all has to do with your family background...don't worry and enjoy the moments. about the itching i would put alot of lotion and have one of those ice cold packs to rub it on (the cocoa butter  didn't work for me either... My stretch mark are know super light that you can berly see them ...

  2. - Use a lotion like Aveeno - it has oatmeal in it and is much better than most regular lotions.  My doctor told me to use that.

    - Don't take really hot showers/baths, just warm showers/baths - as that makes your skin dry out faster, thus itch.

    - Make sure you are drinking plenty of water everyday to keep your skin hydrated as well.

Unfortunately your body stretches a lot in the last few months because the baby grows more rapidly then than any other time.

The stretch marks won't go away, but they will definitely fade over time making them much less visible.

Hang in there - you're almost there!

  3. You sound miserable. Some people get stretch marks worse than others. I never got one and I gained 40 lbs. during my pregnancy. The next time you are in to see the Doc, ask them what you can do about the marks. I heard that the cream they have for scars works on stretch marks. Good luck.
