So I'm only 9 weeks and am having horrible constipation. I cant drink prune juice it is soooo gross, and metamucil makes me want to vomit. Beside fibre rich foods what can I do to QUICKLY fix this uncomfortable problem and keep it fixed. Please share your tips, I'm feeling really horrible.

  1. Your problem is most likely hard stools in your r****m. Use a regular glycerin suppository, or a Fleet LIQUID glycerin (e***a)- they call them suppositories but they are actually a mini-e***a. These will soften up the problem quite well. Good Luck!

  2. Fruit juice, apple juice, grape juice. These usually do the trick. Try eating apple sauce too if the juice fails to work. You can eat black licorice as it's a natural laxative

With me, what I did was drank a cup of black coffee. With it being a natural laxative as well, it doesn't hurt the baby (as long as caffine consumption is low) and it works within a half an hour. Make sure the coffee is black as cream will dilute it. Good luck!

  3. I had really bad constipation too, I just drank some apple juice. 16oz usually did the trick, it does take between 1-3 hours for it to work though, but it's safe to use to get the bowel movements flowing.

  4. There is a product called "Natural Calm" and it works very well for many pregnant related things, including constipation.  It helps keep your muscles relaxed, helps prevent cramping, calms you down...  I would highly recommend taking it daily.  It will also help you absorb calcium out of your foods - very good thing while pregnant.

Yes, the fruit juice and applesauce/apples will help too.  Also make sure you are drinking plenty of water - 8 - 8 ounces glasses a day, that makes a difference.

    Best of luck!

  5. Apple juice or apple cider.....the cider got things moving really quick for me.

  6. Aloe vera juice. Yes it is gross as well but 2 oz in the am will not only help with constipation but will help balance the ph in your stomach. This should help the problem from coming back.
