I read on the yahoo news when checking my email, a stroy about a 9-year old being banned from pitching because he throws too fast. What do you think of this. I think its wrong, to punish someone for doing something good.

btw, when i was 9 i played with the pithcer machine, and there we was hitting 60 mph balls, and he threw 40 mph balls

  1. I read that too.  Before the ban he was invited you play for the defending champs which he refused, btw.  It's just politics and the poor kid is the one being targeted.  It's completely stupid, especially the one who came up with the ban.

  2. That's just mean poor kid its not fair.

  3. I think its kind of stupid that they banned him. My first year of  baseball i was 11 and i was facing kids that pitched around 50-65 mph. Of course kids are going to be scared of kids that pitch fast, i was but it was my first year playing. Even kids on my team that have been playing since they were 5 were kind of scared and the ages on my team were 11-13. But i think its messed up that they are not letting a 9 year old who throws 40 mph play against 8-10 year olds.

  4. I think that's really sad. It was so heartbreaking when he said: "I feel like it's my fault that nobody can play anymore." The poor kid has a gift and he can't even play the game he loves! That's the lamest thing I've ever heard. I can't wait to see him in the majors some day. Remember his name.

  5. This kid should be encouraged to pitch, not stopped!!

Its like kicking Phelps out of swimming because he is too fast at swimming.

Its like kicking Usain Boldt from sprinting because he is too fast at sprinting.

  6. 40 is not fast.

40 to 50 mph is average for 9-10 age group.

    55 would be faster.

  7. he should be able to play.

he might be the next babe ruth.

  8. I think that this poor kid being banned has something to do with over-protective/ignorant parents. It's mentioned in the article that some parents were "afraid" for their children because of the speed of the pitches. WTF are these kids doing in a batting box if they don't want fast pitches! This kid never beaned anybody! Go play tee ball, instead!

  9. i just read that story about an hour ago and i think it is very wrong to ban him.maybe because he is too good for others his age, he should be promoted to a higher league.but banning him completely is wrong and might make him personally get hurt and might make him loose his touch.

  10. As the article said, the team who wants him out of the league is the same team who wanted to recruit him in the first place.

  11. its wrong and people should not ban someone from a sport they love because there good

  12. PARENTS are to blame. instead of teaching their kids to face their fears they are telling them to hide behind politics. this is probably the biggest charactor builder these kids will ever face in their whole lives. years from now when this kid is debuting in the MLB, the kids from his little league SHOULD be telling whoever is around that THEY got to face this phenom in little league(with pride), and they did their best to try and get a hit off of him. and some would have! now the story will be hidden because they will then know that they let their parents disgrace their childhood because they were too scared to face him.

the league officials should've AT LEAST set the kid up to play in a neighboring league.
