  1. Really dumb. The kid should be encouraged to pitch, not the other way around!

This is like saying to Michael Phelps in 2012 "Oh sorry but you can't compete in the 2012 Olympics because you are too good at swimming and got enough golds in Beijing"

  2. i couldn't believe it  when i first read it. what has the world come to? michael phelps and tiger woods get to play their sports why shouldn't this kid? why should we keep our youth from discovering their talents? all in all this whole story is unbelievable

  3. I found that story sad.  I isn't the kids fault that he is talented, why should he be told he can't play?

Since when do we try to hold kids back?  The league should be encouraging him rather than discouraging him.

I just hope the poor kid finds a league to play for.  At that age all they want to do is play, they don't understand the stupid politics.

  4. I reccomend you read the book "Heat" by Mike Lupica, although the case there isn't exactly the same. Anyway, it's injustice. The kid pitches 40 mph, makes a whole team forfeit etc. Wouldn't it be great if he could just take the mound each game and the opposing team always forfeits? Not that I like the situation. He might as well become a shortstop, second baseman or outfielder. What a great arm he would have. Which reminds me, catcher is also suitable for him. He'd catch base stealers any day. However i still hope he gets to pitch, even if it does mean going to older kids' leagues. He might be able to strike out 10 against older peeps.

  5. no just let a kid be a kid!! so what if he said its just a boy.

  6. I agree...it's sad!

  7. This is very sad. I have been President of a Little League and there has never been a situation where a player has been told he/she is too good to play. If the parents are concerned about kids having to face this player they are only hurting their kids. I am sure he is not the ony nine year old who can throw hard in the country. Little League rules utilize a Pitch Count for their games and also require a certain amount of rest after a pitcher pitches. These rules involve having the player rest from pitching, not playing, for several days and games.

Let the kids play...ALL THE KIDS!

  8. This is a big problem when parents get too involved in the league, they try to re-shuffle the league because one player is just better than the rest. It's just not fair to tell a talented player that he can't play pitcher because he is too good. I would press charges on the league.

  9. wow, the same question 5 times on this page alone!!!

yes it is all BS, they should just let the kid play. If he's too good, maybe the other kids need to practice more and try to get better
