9 year old son very skinny and tall?

Question

I have a 9 year old son and he is very tall and thin for his age . He eats like a horse and is very active . He wears a size 8 shorts and 10 slim in pants . Is there anyone else out there where their kids are lanky ? I'm so sick of people asking me if he eats :( . He has also gone through some major growth spurts in the past year .

i am just like that but i am kinda short,,,,,

i eat a lot more than any one in my house but my docter told me i have realy high matabolisum wich makes my food digest quick and it tearns to enery realy fast thats why i am never tired and i never sit stell

Yes... my younger brother is like this.. he has been all his life... he is the same.. very active.. plays sports.. he use to be a personal trainer at a kids gym... he's 18 now.... very tallll.. and still very skinny... if people ask.. say yes he's a very healthy happy boy.. don't we all wish we had a figure like that... d**n him and laugh...

just blow them off and say ofcourse he eats hes a growin boy and he exerszies and eats like a horse when people ask you that ... anyway its none of their business unless he looks sickely all the time or thinks you are abusingg him (which ofcourse your not) and yes i know a ton of boys like that

My Nephew & I were the same way. (well hes tall and im short =[ )  We eat everything in the house but our metabolism was so fast it just never caught up with us. We were also very active kids. =] As long as we were healthy and happy my parents were satisfied.

Kids just grow at different times.  One thing to look at could be genetics.  Was his grandpa or dad real thin?  I know my daughter is 10 and weighs 50 pounds.  She wears a size 7/8 and is very small.  I know that girls are different from boys but we get the same questions and she eats like a horse too.  If you have taken him to the Dr. and the Dr. isn't worried then I wouldn't be either.

he just has a good meatoblism as long he's not like so under weight that people are asking him about it asking you about it then you have nothing to worry about

This is very common among growing kids, so don't let others comments bother you. He'll grow into it and you'll probably forget what this time in his life was like. Just keep feeding him like a horse so he'll keep growin like a weed! lol :o)

My 9 year old son wears size 12 pants and can still wear the 7/8 shorts because he is so slim.  He is all arms and legs.  He as well eats like a horse!!!  as long as you know that you are feeding him, don't worry about what other people are saying. The people that matter know that your son eats.  He obviously eats at school and just because he is thin doesn't mean he is sickly. My son is already 4'9" and he will be 10 in July. Don't worry he will be a very tall grown up and that has it's advantages.
