9 yr. old daughter is having to pee all the time?

She has no pain while using the bathroom or otherwise. She has had no fever or any other sign of sickness, but she has to go to the bathroom repeatedly. If we have to go out somewhere, it is extremely frustrating. Is this normal or should I be concerned and take her to the doctor?

  1. Frequent urination can be a sign of juvenile diabetes...best to seek a DR's care.

  2. frequent urination is a possible sign of diabetes, which being only 9 years old, would be type 1 diabetes.  You should make an appointment with her physician and discuss everything with him/her.  Other symptoms of diabetes; continuously hungry and  thirsty, these symptoms are referred as the 3 P's: Polyuria, (increased urination) Polydipsia, (increased thirst) and Polyphagia (increased hunger)

    Look for and Share any of these symptoms, or anything else you may be concerned about, with her physician.

    Symptoms:

        * Increased thirst

        * Increased urination

        * Weight loss despite increased appetite

        * Nausea

        * Vomiting

        * Abdominal pain

        * Fatigue

    I hope some of these is of help to you.  Good luck with you and your daughter!

  3. i would have her checked out it could be a number of things or it could be nothing but to be safe call her dr and make an appointment

  4. Go see a doctor and if they doctor says that she is fine. Have her try this exercise: half way through peeing,tell her to hold it in, it will make the bladder expand, and she will have stronger muscles to keep the pee inside when she has to go and is unable to.

  5. Could be a sign of diabetes.  I would take her along to the Doctor just in case.

  6. With out a doubt - see her doctor. This could be several things - diabetes - infection or something is bothering her mentally.

    I had a child in my care that would go pee 6 times in half an hour....and she peed every time. Turned out her parents were going through a divorce and she was feeling it...

    Another child - she had an infection and her body was trying to tell her...

    No matter your thought have her checked to rule out anything  :)

  7. There are many reasons a child your daughters age may have frequent urination.  Diabetes, bladder infection, weak bladder and so on.  Take her to the doctor ASAP.

  8. some kids have problem controlling the bladder and this can be serious and needs to see a doctor

  9. you should talk to the doctor.  it can be a sign of diabetes or other medical conditions.  don't panic; do get her checked out.

  10. You should check with her doctor to be sure. That said I wouldn't worry too much.  Mine did the same thing and checked out fine.

    The dr said it could be one of two things.  She's holding it too long at school. If they do that they don't always empty their bladder completely after a while and makes them feel like they constantly have to pee.  Or it could be hormones.  They do start to fluctuate that early and if she's starting to get some discharge already and isn't used to the feeling she could be mistaking it for having to go.

  11. you should be a little bit concerned because constant urination is a sign of diabetes

    you need to ask yourself a few questions

    1)Does diabetes run in the family?

    2)Is my daughter over weight

    3)is she getting enough excersize?

    4)Is she eating healthy

    diabetes is a serious and life changing disease if she doesn't have diabetes now try and do everything you can to prevent it
