I have a 91 prelude 2.0si that starts shaking at about 55mph very softly but as soon as i reach 62 to 65 mph it starts shaking really hard. Feels like the whole car is going to fall apart hard. After reaching about 75 mph the shaking kind of goes away, you could still feel it a little when your going at higher speeds like 80 and above. I checked everything already and all bushings, boots, bearings, all seem to be ok. I don't think tire balance is the problem as the shaking gets softer and not harder as it would with tire balance problems. What about the sway bar. could it cause this problem if it got bent somehow. Thanks for the time.

  1. A speed isolated problem like that is often one of three things.  It sounds like you already check tie rod ends and cv joints, etc so that is one removed.  Next would be tire balance which is what my first impression would be.  Finally would be unsual wear on the tires.  First thing I would try is go gett all four tires balanced.  If you want to be real cheap just do the front two for now 10 bucks and it never hurts or rotate front tires to back if one of your front tires has slung a weight that will lessen the vibration.  But a violent shaking like you describe makes me think it is likely to be worn tierod ends or ball joints but start simple and work your way up.  Good luck.
