I tried to open my door with my key but it only turned halfway. I turned it the other way and it locked fine. I went in through the passenger door and tried to unlock it manually and found that it would really budge. Is this something I can fix myself? It seems stuck.

  1. Unless you have a hardtop, don't lock this car.

A knife and a quick rip of the soft top will get around a lock.

  2. If you can get the door open, access to the locking mechanisms is not that hard. But if you have manual windows you will need a special tool to remove the handle (Haynes  says a piece of cloth can be pull behind it to remove the retainer, but I have never tried it). It is also recommended to use a special tool to remove the door panel. I use a putty knife.

During the process, you are putting at risk about 150 dollars worth of interior panels, and may cut your hand.

That being said, if you think you can handle the blood, the cost of replacing what you broke: then go buy an manual and read more.

If you would rather be able to scream at someone else, and avoid the possible  damage to your self and the car- take it to a shop. It should cost about 1 hours labor. That is one hour that you can sip coffee and let some one else do the cussing.

  3. try graphite lubricant. It works great for locks that get kindof stuck. i did that on my 94 accord and made it like new
