93.3 - this is a local radio station it does not play commercials. How can they do this? I've looked up their website, but I cannot find any information on how they do this.

  1. They can do this usually by a stunt called stunting (ok how approiate)

They will return with commercials, but apparently they have just gone with this new US 93.3 format and to get it off the air, most stations will run commercial free or low commercial numbers until people have tried and switched over...

Usually it last about a couple of weeks, but I saw one station in my area go almost a year (luckily it had other stations helping foot the bill)

  2. dx, yah I love to do that at night. As for that radio station, I would think, it may be a school radio station.  Some thing ware, no revenue is needed to support it

  3. Gearbox is correct, but also if it isn't a school station it probably belongs to a company that owns many stations, therefor from the revenue from other stations doing well they can run that one for quite a while before it needs to generate income for itself . . .

  4. they have sponsers and they have money

  5. They do or soon will because they have a page on their website asking people to advertise with them.
