93' BMW 325 is. Guages not working, help?

Question

I bought the car a few months back and none of the guages work. The gas guage, the speedometer, nothing. Don't know why. What could be the problem. The person I bought it from said it slowly stopped working. Any ideas?

All to common a problems these days since around 1988 to today.  In the upper left hand corner of the cage cluster on the circuit board the solders fail.  Re heat all the solders in that area.

Check for a blown fuse powering the instrument cluster. If the fuse is OK, then check if the cable connectors to the rear of the cluster are properly attached.

If all checks out OK, then it can only be a bad cluster.
