Question:

93 GSXR 750 Won't start!?

Bike cranked up fine the previous couple days, but last night I changed the oil, filter, and antifreeze. Cranked right up, drove it some to mix in the new fluids, covered it up and went to bed. Got up this morning and the bike won't start (I'm cranking in Neutral). It'll turn over, and only starts putting a little when I choke it without giving it some throttle, but then dies back out. To me it sounds like either a spark problem or gas problem, but hopefully someone with some experience can help!

  1. take your spark plugs out and wipe them with a DRY rag. then put them back in. also check your fuel lines and see if fuel is flowing well. also check your throttle linkage cable and see if it is actuating the throttle? other than that i have no idea

  2. You probably put too much oil in. Check the little window gauge to be sure it's th right amount.

Also it sounds like you are choking it wrong. Turn the key to the on position, trans in nuetral, kill switch disengaged, wait 3 or 4 seconds, then choke, then start. You shouldn't have to give it gas. It should start with one or two pushes of the button. It will idle high, warm up, then start coming down. then you can unchoke it and let it idle for another minute. Now you can ride off.

If that still doesn't work, see if you can push start it.

  3. bump start it

  4. Do you have the little s***w adjuster to change the idle speed?  I had a honda 750 with a hand turn adjuster that I sometimes would end up bumping when I worked on my bike.  I would then have to adjust it back.
