Question:

93 lexus sc400 lower left arm control ?

1 week ago it was making a squeaking noise and i took it to a mechanic. he said i needed to replace it. after he looked at it and i got the car back it hasn't made any noise.the thing is he never change the arm because i couldnt get the part. any idea why this happens and can i still drive it

  1. Does your car still have the original bushings? The only complaint I've ever heard about these cars squeeking in the control arms is when some of the guys change out their bushings to polyurathane ones like Daizen brand. Even if they dont squeek, it would be a good idea to replace the front lower control arms on both sides because those are the ones that wear out. You can use the Supra TT control arms and buy them through toyota... its much cheaper then getting ripped off at lexus for the same part. I'd reccomend you purchase online through Carson Toyota.


  2. Well noise's are a funny thing. Chances are when he raised the car up and was checking the suspension what ever was causing your noise has shifted. Unless you have worn parts, noise's are not a problem. So a second inspection should be sought to find any part that may need any attention. Of course go some where else. Just go and have an alignment done if there is anything wrong with any part they should find it. Good luck
