  1. 1.590e2  The result of the addition to the correct number of sig figs is 159.0 (all the numbers have a tenths place).  You can't lose that zero on the right.


  2. I was taught to use the least amount of sig figs, which would be three, so i think you would round them first and then add them together for a final answer of 1.59e2. You say you tried that? Well, if that isn't right, then I guess it's changed since I was in school...
