I changed the transmission and and torque converter and then only got about 20 miles down the road and lost all the drives. Let it sit a few minutes and got reverse back. Then lost that too. Is it possible that it could be the transfer case that is bad or is it the transmission?

  1. you have to make sure it was completely full of fluid before you test drive it,fluid level must be checked with it idling in park or neutral and fully warmed up,if not it may still be really low on fluid,id check that first,if all that checks good you may have gotten a bad transmission, good luck.

  2. Did you pour 2 quarts of fluid into the torq converter before installing it ? If not,,, uh oh, You'll need a new torq converter.

  3. rp could have an idea but, if you did not check the fluid levels before you put it in gear, then you ave a low transmission that is causing the trouble.

just to make sure you did check the atf with the transmission in neutral correct?
