  1. backup light should have their own socket. check the brake fuse and the brake switch up by the brake pedal. brake lights and turn signals are in the same socket, you have a double filiment, 1 for brakes and 1 for turn signals

  2. The turn signals (left and right) are the same wires used for the braking lights (same bulb filament), because your turn signal lights and brake lights are the same bulbs. Both are energized and do not flash when you hit the brakes.

Does the 3rd brake light illuminate? If it does, your problem is most likely the turn signal switch located inside the steering column.

If the 3rd brake light doesn't illuminate when you hit the brakes, you either have a blown fuse, or the brake pedal switch is bad, or faulty wiring with that part of the circuit.

I'm unsure of the fuse that you need to check, look in your owner's manual. If the fuse is good, then check the pedal switch. It is located underneath the dash, and is actuated when the brake pedal is pressed. Verify that you have power going to the switch. Then verify the switch itself using an ohm meter to test for continuity across the switch (when pressed).

The tail wiring harness consists of 4 wires (the weatherproof plug found on the inside of the driver's frame rail). The wires are Left Turn/Brake, Right Turn/Brake, marker/running, and Backup lights. Each tail-light assembly plug is grounded seperately to the frame.
