95 ford explorer stereo install problem?

i hooked it all up right the cd player turns on but no sound i know it has a factory amp in it the ground is through the dash in the connectors that you get when you buy the adapter kit i hooked up the ground same with the ground for the cd player and hooked up all the speaker wires the right way possitive and neg still nothing is there a way to check if the factory amp is not working or any advice

  1. The amp needs a turn on voltage from the radio and is supplied through the power harness to the factory radio. Your new radio should have an amp turn on wire, usually blue with white stripe, which needs to be connected to the factory harness. Wire colors are not given, but you can locate the turn on wire from the diagran here.
