i bought this truck a year and a half ago (running). the battery died, got a new one. then the starter went, got a new one...and this is within the same week of buying the truck. well when i put the starter in (night time, no lights) i somehow had the positive battery cable against my manifold :D...i know i know (dumba**). so within this past week (a year and a half later) the manifold burned threw the cable, killing the battery/starter/and cable...and somehow the alternator is still good :). so i bought a brand new starter, cable, and battery. the truck ran great! for a week...the starter sounds like its smacking my flywheel (which is messing up my teeth), so i shimmed it 5 different depths, and its still doing the same thing. and now something is draining my battery over night!!! any ideas on how to properly shim a starter or why a brand new battery would die over night with nothing left on? thanks in advance for any possible ideas :)

  1. My battery was being drained due to the visor mirror light stayng on over night even in the closed position - I cut the wire to the visor mirror light and it styed shut off and stopped draining the battery.
