Okay I own a 96 camry I dont have a cd player yet but I do have a ipod. I bought a cassette adapter and it keeps spitting it back out. I read the back on the package that came with the adapter and it said to turn the autoreveres off on my cassette player. Anyone know how to do that I cant seem to find anything in the handbooks that came with the car that can help.

  1. The motion detector circuit in toyota radios require that both take up reels spin before playing. Not all tape adaptors will work in these decks. Take a pencil and turn the right spool opening of the adaptor counter-clockwise. If the left side turns when you turn the right, it should work. If not, it won't. There is no way to turn the auto-reverse off.

A better solution would be to add this. It plugs into the antenna jack of your radio and plays through the FM.

  2. there are different cassette adapters and some of them work with auto-reverse decks and some don't, I had to try a few and then one wrked for me

  3. You probably can't turn off the autoreverse.  Normally it reverses when it detects that it can spin the thing anymore, and if that happens twice in a row, it spits it out.  But the adapter's thing is supposed to spin, so idk y its doing that.  But it's probably not going to work with the adapter.  Just get the cd player.  They're like 50 bucks, which is like, nothing.

  4. see if the little wheel things are turning fine like it supposed to if its is tight thats the reason if so u can take it paprt and just mess around and see whats up if its fine hook what ever u are hooking to it then put that casset in and put u r finger in and hold the casset adapter after a while it will work fine
