Question:

97 Ford Explorer JBL wire colors?

I am in a pickle... every single wiring diagram I have looked at doesn't match the colors I have....

here are the colors that are on the smaller black connector...

Blue/white stripe

Grey

Black

Tan

Green/black stripe

Brown/green stripe

White/red stripe

light blue/pink stripe

also, there is no coaxial cable for the radio, how is that hooked up? (there wasn't even a hookup in the original deck for one)

PLEASE HELP!

  1. if i am not mistaking it has a factory installed amplifier to power the speakers, the radio does not push any power to the speakers

    as a rule the wire "Blue/white stripe" is your "remote" wire that tells the amp that the radio is on and tells the amp to turn on

    use a test light ($5) to see what wires are hot so that you can find out what wires are hot or not, and you can use a 9v battery to test to speaker wires- when you have the right combination you will hear a crackling noise from the speaker
