Question:

97 Ford Probe GT engine balance?

I have a 97 Ford Probe GT with 2.5L V6 non KL-ZE and looking at install an aluminum underdrive pulley, i know fords inside and out and that most of thier engines are externally balanced, question is on this motor is it, and what about a lightwieght flywheel(Fidanza) work together? no? all i know is i dont want to put new main bearings in because of improper balance,

Any info or suggestions greatly appreciated thanks

  1. Well if you have a harmonic balancer it is external.  As far as the lightweight flywheel the only thing it will really hurt is your engine RPM's uphills.  The engine will have less weight slinging around causing momentum to keep the RPM's stabilized uphills.  They are awsome for level ground and downhills where quick winding and high RPM's need to be obtained.
