It is leaking antifreeze somewhere where it can get on the serpentine belt. What are some things to check for and what can i do to slow or stop the leak before i can get it to a mechanic? Also, is it safe to drive it with it leaking like this such little bit?

  1. If you look on the top of the water pump you should see a hole about the size of a pencil and there's another hole on the bottomas well , take a look at those hole's and you should by able to tell if there leaking. if so then you need to replace the pump. You might also check to see if a heater hose is leaking

  2. Sounds like it could be leaking from your water pump seeing it is on the serp belt side.  You can drive it to the mechanic but water pump leaks tend to only get worse.  It could also be you intake gasket because it is common but less likely.

  3. if it,s that close to the belt, it might be the water pump leaking.

  4. your water pump is defective...it is leaking through the weep hole on the pump shaft.

    replacement is your only option.

    good luck!

  5. Your hoses may be loose, try to tighten them.  Also their may be a pin hole in your rad.  A good product to use to slow or stop the leak is called Barsleak.  Its tiny pellets you add into your rad, and while engine runnes, they attach themselves to the leak and melt, sealing the leak.

    Also consider a leaky waterpump.
