97 clio 1.2 will not start.new batteries in key fob and still refuses to unlock or lock doors .

the follow up to this is the car is failing to turn of the immoblizer.i have checked .the sensor on the roof and it is completely dry .the switch on the console is working for locking and unlocking doors.where is my problem?

You need to remove the battery completely, then re-f**t the battery. Open the car with the key, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the second position (Battery light on). Then press the key fob to synchronise the fob with the car.

Did you discharge the fob before putting the new batteries in?

You need to remove the batteries and press the fob about ten times, then replace the batteries.
