Please help my quad will only start with starting fluid. After I get it started I have to throttle it until it warms up, then it runs like new and restarts until it gets cold. I have pulled the carb and completely cleaned it. Choke seems to be working when it is running if I open the choke all the way the engine stalls. Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

  1. Have you changed the exhaust or air filter lately? If the engine is getting too much air it will be hard to start. You may have missed something when cleaning the carb there is a start circuit in most carbs  which must be clear or it will not start. Also make sure the carb is secured adequately.

  2. you got your engine addicted to either it happed to my grandpas tractor and it will never start without it for now on you see the first person who had it would give it starter fluid every time it gave them a little trouble
